🧭 Trip: Nainital Lake & Hills Getaway

From my seventy-year-old mother to my five-year-old daughter, this trip had something for everyone — and the driver felt like part of the family by the end.

Travelling with kids and grandparents

Planning a holiday for three generations is never easy. We needed gentle walks for my mother and enough fun to keep my daughter happy, and somehow this trip balanced both perfectly.

Our driver, Mahesh, was endlessly patient — stopping for photos, carrying my daughter on his shoulders at Tiffin Top, and making sure my mother always had a seat near the boat's edge for the breeze.

Lakes, viewpoints and orchards

Boating on Naini Lake was the highlight for the little one. We did the Naina Devi temple, the Snow View cable car, and a quiet day at Bhimtal and Sattal where my husband finally tried kayaking.

The last day at Mukteshwar, among the apple orchards with the snow peaks lined up on the horizon, was the kind of view you don't forget. Clean cars, comfortable hotels, and not one moment of stress — exactly what a family holiday should be.
